The dedicated team of The Hearing Healthcare Practice

Who we are

The Hearing Healthcare Practice is a small team of dedicated Hearing Aid Audiologists and support staff. Based in Harpenden, Hertfordshire, we welcome patients from throughout the UK and Ireland.

Robert Beiny

Robert Beiny

Director of Audiology

A career in medicine was always on the cards for me until I met my audiology mentor, Monty, in 1976. He introduced me to the fascinating and rewarding world of pediatric hearing care and I graduated to looking after adults in 1980.

The past 30 years have given me a deep appreciation of how hearing and hearing loss affect how we develop relationships and interact with other people. I can really empathize with our clients and, in many cases, I’ve developed a deep respect for them.

I am proud to say that I have known some of my clients for as long as I’ve been practicing. Our life paths are now entwined and we follow each other decade after decade.

I’m also passionate about telling those lucky enough to have ‘normal’ hearing how fortunate they are and how fragile and important our aural sense its. Prevention is always better than cure and I spend a great deal of time involved in hearing protection projects.

I live in Harpenden with my wife Ali, who is also a director in the Practice. She has her own audiology life story to tell.

We have two great children, Josh and Jazz, two cats, Coco and Lily, a dog called Noodles, and Harry the tortoise. So there's not much room left in our household!

My quest for knowledge and to find more ways to help my clients is never ending and I am as passionate about my work today as I have ever been.

I look forward to helping people for many years to come.

Jo Rae

Jo Rae

Hearing Aid Audiologist

After completing a Psychology degree at the University of Gloucestershire I realised that I wanted to work in a profession where I could meet and help people.

I became a trainee at the Hearing Healthcare Practice in 2005 and went on to qualify as a Hearing Aid Audiologist.

Working at HHP has given me the opportunity to help people with their hearing. Seeing the real difference we can make to people’s lives is really rewarding. I love working with my clients and enjoy helping them to achieve better hearing.

Outside work, I live locally and get involved in lots of activities. I’ve recently joined a local choir and taken part in the ‘Race for Life’ – running all the way!

Jo was nominated and received a special commendation for her work in the 2009 Audiologist of the Year Awards.

Zoe Steward

Zoe Steward

Hearing Aid Audiologist

After graduating from the University of Hertfordshire with a Psychology degree, I started looking for a profession that was diverse, rewarding and interesting. I joined the Hearing Healthcare Practice team in 2005 and have never looked back!

I absolutely love working here. It’s a privilege to work with so many wonderful clients and our team is very special.

I feel very strongly about delivering a caring service to every individual and I always try and go that extra mile!

I’m married to Neil and live locally, in Hitchin, with our two cats, Woody and Monty.

Zoe was nominated by her patients for her work in the 2009 Audiologist of the Year Awards.

Ali Beiny

Ali Beiny

Director

I was born into an Audiological family in 1965. My Father was an Audiologist and ran his own practice. I first began working in the business at the age of thirteen as a Saturday job!

I am married to Robert, who I met at a hearing aid seminar and we now have two wonderful children, Josh and Jazz.

Now the children are older I work part time at the Practice, which I really love. Josh is now joining us as a Saturday job so it really feels like a family business.

My interests include reading, gardening, walking our dog and, of course, our family!

Jane Mobbs

Jane Mobbs

Administrator

I have worked as secretary and administrator all of my working life and have always enjoyed dealing with members of the public.

I find my role at HHP very rewarding and enjoy direct contact with our clients and their families.

I am used to making sure things run smoothly, being married to an ex computer salesman turned project manager and having brought up two children, two dogs, three rabbits and a hamster.

I live in Harpenden (which I love) and I particularly enjoy trips into London to the ballet and theatre.

My duties at HHP include all aspects of administration and support for the team. Every day is different and it’s certainly never dull!

Ros Weaver

Ros Weaver

Administrator

Having worked as an airline stewardess in the 1970's and then bringing up my family, I was persuaded to join HHP as a receptionist in August 1998.

Since then I have been involved in nearly every aspect of administration, in particular, with patient care and advice which I find particularly rewarding.

I was born and educated in Harpenden and still live locally. I’m married with one son, three daughters and two grandsons, but still find time for gardening and going to see musicals and comedy shows.
